Course Update

Thursday – Status Green, Practice Ground Closed 12-2 for Maintenance. Greens trimmed with no VL. Fairway’s mown. Newly leveled Tee’s trimmed while dry and firm, before tonight into tomorrow’s rain. Daily tasks. Some granular fertiliser applied to specific area’s. Seed and soil on some beaten up area’s.

Wednesday – Status Green. Green’s Rolled. Green’s having some plant protection in advance of next week’s maintenance…. which will no doubt stress them out. Approaches trimmed. 2nd Cut of Semi topped. Tee Banks mown. Daily Tasks. Tee signage with hole yardages etc are being gradually removed. Don’t panic, they aren’t being stolen…. just being sent…

Tuesday – Status Green. Green’s Cut. Fresh Pin Position’s. Tee’s cut. Smaller & Newly built Tee’s hand mown. 1st Cut of semi topped. Daily tasks completed. Practice Greens getting some Cultural work in preparation for next week. This is to get rates of sand and spacing of holes correct etc

Monday – Status Green. Green’s rolled. Approaches nipped. Green’s getting an application of Turf Hardener prior to Maintenance week next week. Fairway’s cut. Daily tasks completed, plus some posts painted where the Treatment has absorbed into the cut timber. Machinery setup for Maintenance next week. We will be doing some tasks to the Practice Greens…

Sunday – Status Green. Daily setup with greens cut and holes trimmed, Tee set plus a divot from yesterday’s play, Bunkers raked.

Saturday – Status Amber. 15mm of rain with only 1-2mm forecasted! Eeeekkk Greens Rolled. Daily Setup tasks. Remaining Fairway’s Sprayed. Fertiliser mixing pump failed yesterday, showing how much of a time saver this method has been over the years. Mixing a tank each time takes over 8 hours to spray all the Fairway’s, but using…

Friday – Status Green, 10th Tee Start & 7th Green on Temp during Bunker Work. Greens Mown + VL. Approaches nipped. Recently Turfed Bunkers needing some water…. even though it was the Wettest Jan & Feb for a very long time! Fairway’s Sprayed with some Fe, N, Mg & Wetter. Through a super wet Winter…

Thursday – Status Amber. 10th Tee Start with the 1st Green on Temp & 7th Markers on the Fairway. Greens trimmed. Tee’s mown…. larger Tee’s Ride on mown & smaller Tee’s Hand mown. Bunker on 7th getting some Turf. Tree planting ongoing….. Reed Clearance to the 1st Pond continues.

Wednesday – Status Amber, 7th Tee on Temporary Tee & 1st Green on Temporary mid morning onwards due to Pond Clearance. Irrigation system being primed up ready for Season… expect some rougue sprinklers to pop up 😬 Green’s rolled. Fresh Pin Position’s. Fairway’s mown. Semi cut on even holes following yesterday’s odd holes being cut.…

Tuesday – Status Red, 7th Green on Temporary. Green’s nipped without VL. Approaches trimmed. Daily Setup Tasks. 1st Cut of semi cut on odd number holes 4 bands instead of 2 for now…. Even holes tomorrow to avoid getting in the way of Golf and cutting up golf balls! Sand bags made for the Bunker…
