Welcome to Windlesham Golf Club
Set amidst the beautiful Surrey countryside, Windlesham golf club was designed by Tommy Horton, the former Ryder Cup star, and opened for play in 1994.
Constructed by Southern Golf, the contractors and builders of The Wisley, Kingsbarns, Bearwood Lakes and The Oxfordshire to name a few, Horton is particularly proud of his creation. He said:
“A course that excites and tests all standards of golfer. The gentle slopes and streams form the main difficulties for all players. I was fortunate to have a site that is a golf architect’s dream. Every aspect needed for a magnificent course was available naturally. I believe I have designed a course that will be acclaimed as one of the best in the country.”
The course at its highest point enjoys extensive views over the Surrey countryside. Many greens nestle into the landscape and are fringed by mature trees creating an atmosphere of tranquillity and great beauty. Parkland scenery with streams, ancient trees, grasslands, lakes and spinneys abound.
The Course & Academy
Windlesham Golf Club is a par 72, 6,650-yard championship parkland golf course with two exciting loops of 9-holes, that demands a competence with every club in the bag. Featuring gentle slopes and streams, every aspect of this magnificent course is designed to excite the eye and the mind.
The greens and tees are always in immaculate condition, and the fairways are shaped and cut to provide a fair test of golf for all levels. We are sure you will agree that it is one of the finest golf courses in the south-east.
The 300-yard range with covered bays and grass tee to the bunkered short game area and putting green are all kept in pristine condition by the green staff providing an opportunity to hone your skills in every area of the game. The academy coaching team make use of high-speed digital camera equipment and V1 coaching software, as well as PSP Plane Board and a multitude of other swing and training aids that aid improvement and learning.
The Clubhouse
The stunning clubhouse offers plenty of options for relaxed socialising. There’s a large welcoming bar area, plus a spacious sunlit conservatory offering panoramic views of the course. Our patio area is great for alfresco dining and drinks, or why not retreat to our stylish Restaurant where you’ll find a tempting seasonal menu and fabulous selection of fine wines – the choice is yours.
Windlesham Golf Club is a popular venue with local organisations for meetings and events. We have the ability to cater to your company’s every need, with the ability to arrange our three modern function rooms to your desire. The clubhouse has been recently renovated and is a spectacular focal point of our modern golf club, consisting of a generously sized members bar, as well as two new function rooms. There is always something going on in the clubhouse, whether it is lunch in the bar, members having a drink after their round, bridge club in the Lutine Suite or a member social night, there is something for everyone.
The quality of our golf course is just one aspect of what makes us different. At Windlesham you’ll find a warm and friendly club where the focus is very much on you, from the moment you arrive to when you leave at the end of the day.
