Principle Terms of Membership Agreement
Golf Membership is an initial commitment from the date of joining until the following rate review date and annually thereafter to the rate review date each year, in the chosen category of Membership. Membership joining fees and subscription fees, inclusive of current VAT charges fixed by WGML, are reviewed annually. In the event of the Main Member terminating their Membership, any Joint Member is required to become an Individual Member. This may involve paying any additional joining fee’s, subject to WGML’s discretion, applicable at the time and future monthly subscription rates at the individual rate rather than the Joint Rate.
Should you fail to meet your ongoing commitment to pay subscriptions, access to WGML premises will be refused and the remainder of the year’s subscription become
payable, in full, within 14 days.
WGML Membership Rules
In addition to WGML Membership Rules concerning the administration of Membership, Member’s attention is drawn to the Club Rules, which are issued at the Club and include local rules on golf etiquette, opening times, dress
code, smoking policy, safety and hygiene, car parking and mobile phone usage, etc.
1.0 Membership Categories
Membership of the Club comprises of the following categories:
• 7-Day Golf Membership – Seven-day access to the Golf Course and Clubhouse facilities.
• 5-Day Golf Membership – Midweek access to the Golf Course and Clubhouse facilities, access to the Golf Course at weekends and Bank Holidays are subject to fees at the time of play.
• Intermediate Golf Membership - (age restrictions apply at the time of application) – Seven-day access to the Golf Course and Clubhouse facilities.
• Junior Golf Membership - (age restrictions apply at the time of application) – Seven-day use of the Golf Course and Clubhouse facilities.
• Academy Membership - (restrictions may apply at the time of application - Limited use of the Golf Course and Clubhouse facilities.
• Range Membership - Use of the practice facilities including the driving range and chipping green and Clubhouse facilities.
• Social Membership – Use of the Clubhouse facilities.
Please note that all Junior and Intermediate Members will automatically be moved up at the first-rate review date after the relevant birthday and we will write to inform you of the subscription rates for their new Membership
category at least one month before the new rate is to be charged.
All WGML correspondence will be sent to the main Member who will be responsible for relaying all information to their partner Member. The main Member will be responsible for all joining fees and monthly subscriptions. Direct Debit collections will only be taken from one bank account. In the case of mixed group memberships, the highest charging category will be the main Member.
1.1 Membership Joining and Subscription Fees
Please note that some form of identification, which includes the new Member’s signature, will be required at the time of joining. For new Members wishing to pay by Direct Debit,
we will also require confirmation of your bank account details. Membership joining fees and subscription fees, inclusive of current VAT charges fixed by WGML, are reviewed annually. WGML reserves the right to reject an application for membership, or refuse admission, without
ascribing any reason for doing so.

Membership Rules will form a legally binding contract between the Membership and WGML. Members are also signing their agreement to abide by these and any other Club Rules, Regulations and guidelines that may be posted on the Club’s notice board or website. Members
are committed to pay a non-refundable joining fee. This is a one-off charge made at the commencement of Membership. If a member leaves and then rejoins at a later date, a joining fee will be payable at the rates prevailing at the time of rejoining.

Membership subscriptions are payable either annually at joining until the following rate review date and then annually on the rate review date each year or monthly by Direct Debit. All Direct Debit draws will take place on or around the 1st of each month unless otherwise advised. Where the 1st of the month falls on a weekend or a bank holiday the subscriptions will be drawn from the Member’s
bank account on the next available working day. Direct Debit subscription payments for any Joint or other linked Members within your Membership group must be paid from the same bank account as the Main Member. In the event of the Main Member terminating their Membership, any Joint Member is required to become an Individual Member. This will involve paying the future monthly subscription rates at
the individual rate rather than the Joint Rate.
Membership joining and subscription fees are not refundable but WGML may use discretion depending on the circumstances of the case. In the event of subscriptions not being paid on the
due date, access to WGML premises may be refused. In the case of Members who pay by Direct Debit, a second attempt will be made to draw the overdue subscription within 10 working days. Should this second attempt also fail, we will attempt to draw a double subscription payment in the following month’s Direct Debit draw. Should you fail to meet your ongoing commitment to pay subscriptions, access to WGML premises will be refused and the remainder of the year’s subscriptions become payable, in full, within 14 days. Failure to pay within 14 days will result in the Membership being terminated forthwith and the possibility of legal action being taken.
1.2 Membership Suspensions
Membership may only be suspended if requested in writing, for pregnancy, or physical incapacity through long-term injury or illness if supported by medical evidence at the time.
Membership suspension for any of the above reasons will not be granted in retrospect. The period of suspension is for a minimum of three months and a maximum of nine months.
1.3 Membership Transfers
Memberships are not transferable and cannot be used by anyone else, however, WGML reserve the right to apply discretion if appropriate.
1.4 Upgrading and Downgrading
Golf Membership may be upgraded at any time but may only be downgraded to take effect at the rate review date each year. No refund of any portion of a joining fee will be made.
1.5 Termination of Membership
Golf Membership may only be terminated at the rate review date each year. WGML reserves the right to refuse admission and/or expel any Member forthwith if any Member shall, in the opinion of the Club, cause nuisance, annoyance, breach any Rules, or for any other reason which the Club may deem appropriate. In the event of any dispute the General Manager’s decision shall be final.
1.6 Membership Cards
All Members will be issued with Membership cards. Members must carry their Membership card when visiting WGML premises and show them to the Bar or Golf Shop or Members of the Club Management Team when asked to do so. The loss of a card should be reported immediately to WGML staff and we reserve the right to charge for a replacement. Any misuse of Membership cards will result in an immediate
cancellation of Membership. WGML reserves the right to withdraw any Membership card at any time.
1.7 Supervision of Juniors
Parents should be aware that if children are left at WGML unsupervised, other than to attend specific coaching sessions, competitions, or other organised events, the club cannot accept supervisory responsibility. Parents are reminded that they are responsible for their child’s behaviour when visiting WGML premises.
1.8 Use of the Facilities
WGML may at any time, without penalty, withdraw all or part of its facilities for any period or periods with or without notice in connection with any cleaning, repair, alteration or maintenance work or for any other reason that the General Manager deems necessary. WGML also reserves the right to set aside facilities for social or sporting events.
1.9 Liability
All Members, and their Guests, use Club facilities at their own risk and WGML will accept no responsibility for any illness or injury howsoever caused, other than liability that may arise from negligence of WGML or its Staff. WGML
liability for damage or loss to Members’ property is strictly limited to any damage or loss suffered as a result of negligence of WGML or its Staff. With this exception WGML will not accept liability for money, valuables or other personal property of Members and Guests. Property stored in lockers provided by WGML is stored at the owner’s risk and no liability for loss or damage thereto will be accepted by WGML. Vehicles parked or left in WGML car park or
elsewhere on the premises of WGML and all contents in them or on them, are left at the owner’s risk. WGML will accept no liability for loss or damage in respect thereof. WGML cannot accept any liability for any accident to any Member or Guest that may occur on the premises or within the grounds of any Club, other than liability that may arise from negligence of WGML or its Staff. Any Member or Guest who suffers an accident on WGML premises, or in its grounds, must report the accident and the circumstances under which it occurred, to the General Manager or Duty
Manager at the Club immediately following the accident.
1.10 General
No food or drink, alcoholic or otherwise, may be brought into and consumed within the Club or its grounds. Members and Guests must always observe both these and the Club Rules, (copies of which are located on the Club’s notice board and website) and comply with any reasonable
directions which the General Manager may give to ensure the smooth operation of the Club, the facilities and the convenience of all Members. WGML reserves the right to amend these Rules, and all tariff charges, at any time and without notice to Members. Notification of any
change will be displayed on the Club notice boards and website. By signing for this Membership, you are agreeing to be bound both these Rules and by any local Club Rules and it is your responsibility to be aware of these Rules.
The General Manager, whose decision shall be final, shall determine any dispute or difference, which may arise with regard to the interpretation of these Rules and apply discretion where appropriate.
