Friday – Status Green.

Big one today… Spamming with Info 🤯

Green’s Cut no VL,

Fairway’s Mown,

Tee’s Sprayed with some N, PGR, Mollasses & Wetter… a splash later tonight so the PGR is absorbed into the leaf and then the wetter is pushed into the soil later. 😃

Daily Setup Task’s Completed.

Few tanks of “Total” around the Clubhouse to keep some unwanted grass away.

Next week’s Course Maintenance Setup works being completed to the Putter & Chipper as normal practice. This is to get the machines, Depth, Amount of Sand and routines set… ready to rock and roll Monday 😎

Green’s Verti Cut in 2 directions,

4t of Sand over the top per Green on average,

Verti drain over the sand with 12mm tines to 9 inch depth,

Then a shallower tine over the top to 5 inches to vary the layers targeted,

Then a wait till sand is dry and a sweep to fill the millions of holes!

Bunker Rakes

Some comments recently on Bunkers and Bunker rakes being swapped etc…..

Bunkers for several seasons now have been flat raked (with the rake upside down)on the faces in an effort to not disturb the sand and make it more compact to help reduce the chance of plugging. An impossible task… but one we try our best to reduce with the above practice.

Then in previous seasons, we have used our “Landscape” Rakes to fluff up the bases which works well.

However… after we have prepared them in the morning, when (and if 😅) Members rake them after use, a different tooth patern is left with the rakes in the Bunkers.

Soooo… as always… in an attempt to every year raise the standards… we have adapted the rakes on the course to meet the same tooth pattern as our rakes.

The original close together teeth pattern were bad for pulling sand away from the middle towards the exit point of the bunker…. the area the sand is not needed!

The newer wider teeth pattern leaves the sand where it needs to be… but rakes the player mess even with one handed use.

Which leaves the bunker in a far better flatter condition for the next player.
