Friday – Day 5…. Maintenance Week 💪Front 9 Open with the Back 9 Closed. The starting Tee will be flipped a little later on this afternoon and extended to 18 holes off the 10th.

Epic shift from the WGC Greens Team this week, in testing conditions that’s for sure! These guys just never seem to be bothered or fazed, no matter what’s thrown at them 🤩

Focus today is some snagging works…. and mainly Reinstating the Course after some agressive works this week.

Fresh Pin Position’s.

Green’s dew removal…. this is to get the surfaces dry quicker so we can get a dry mow to the greens before the weekend. We will cut the Back 9 Greens as soon as we can as that loop is closed, but will more than likely be around lunchtime…. and then get onto the Front 9 Green’s when the starting hole is flipped to the 10th. Golf Shop will communicate this with all players.

Cutting when dry when sand is around is paramount as the sand when damp sticks to the rollers and builds up in clumps, as seen below.

Bunkers raked, flat raked faces and tooth raked bases…. few grasses pulled like every day. Grass struggles to grow when dry but always grows well in bunkers 😅

Daily Setup Tasks and Fairway Divotting back on track.

We divot yesterday’s play and rotated areas of Fairway’s daily with a mixture of purchased high spec Divot Mix, but now its currently super dry, we add some of our in-house created soil that’s double sieved to give it some more moisture holding ability.

Remaining Core Piles removed and taken to the Soil Storage areas ready for screening and recycling ♻️

John & Tom making fine work of clearing out the Course Ditches while the Front 9 was closed. With it being so dry now…. it’s highly likely that when the rain comes, it will be in high amounts, so it’s important to keep these clear for efficiency and for visual effect.

Tee’s Sprayed early, as they have been cored so lots of exposed areas to dry out quicker than normal. Our lovely Mollasses, Seaweed, Surfactant & Penetrant Mix that’s doing darn well at keeping Tee’s lookinh good through this dry spell.

Lawns striped.

Later on….. Approaches getting a Double Cut when dry, along with Greens too! No pics of this as its not happened yet 😁
