Friday – Status Green.

Driest March for as long as the Club’s records go and what seems to be a dry April forecast too!

Night time temperatures are still low, which means soil temperatures aren’t stimulating grass growth yet. A popular question so far has been “why are you not watering to grow the grass as its hot & dry out?” We are watering, but throwing out Cold Water onto a cold plant doesn’t make grass grow sadly, no matter how hard we ask it nicely 😂 Some natural precipitation from the sky would help, but that doesn’t look likely yet, so some patience needed.

Out with the Mollasses, Seaweed & Residual Wetter this morning after a scorcher yesterday and another due today! Overheads doing a few passes to get the Sugars etc into the profile, nice soak too! Important time of the Season to get Spring roots digging for water and ready for Summer.

Forward Tee’s that are growing like they have Rocket Fuel trimmed,

Fairway’s getting a top late morning into the afternoon. Please give the guys on the Mowers a hand and help them crack on 🙏 It takes them longer to cut the Fairway’s than it does to play 18 holes, so chances are you will see them at some point.

Greens getting a dry cut this afternoon when Spray Application has washed in…. and the sand has then dried.

4th Bank Softening still ongoing with soil movement and shaping today. This is to make the area that once was a woodland with a very unmanageable bank…. manageable and neat.

Daily tasks ticked off along with some targeted Strimming of fluffy bits
