The Ladies’ Christmas Dinner was held last Wednesday. 60 ladies came together for festive fun and to celebrate some of the golfing achievements from the year. The ladies enjoyed music from The Dom Hall Jazz Trio as they sipped their welcome drinks, before moving through into the Orangery to enjoy a 2-course meal. Our Club Captain, Lee Wood, joined the ladies briefly to help present the remaining prizes from the ladies’ golfing year and the evening was rounded off by a festive sing-a-long, led by Jacqui Cundell, which also included an amusing re-wording of the carol Away in a Manger, sang by some of our previous lady captains!
The ladies were not only extremely generous in their donations to the raffle, but also donated 3 sacks worth of gifts for the Captain’s Charity, Oakleaf Enterprise. Hilary Ashby had once again made a wonderful Christmas Cake, won by Margaret Deery, and the proceeds from the raffle for this, the main raffle and a festive table quiz raised an amazing £685, also for Oakleaf Enterprise.
