Saturday the 27th of October saw the final played in the inaugural Mary Kircher Trophy. Under sunny skies, Alex and Mike Phelps took on Sam and Nigel Whitehead in an adult and junior greensome competition.
The match was closely contested with Alex and her Dad Mike winning 18 to finish the match one up. The match had swung both ways and Nigel had a putt on 18 to take the match down the tenth.
The competition had seen 16 pairs of juniors and their chosen parent, grandparent or sibling enter the competition with some great matches played throughout the summer. The competition had already achieved its objective after the first round of matches, with juniors playing fun competitive golf with loved ones and siblings.
We are hoping that we may be able to get even more pairs of Juniors and adults to enter next spring to compete and have fun. The competition is open to any Windlesham member with a junior or adult playing as a partner. The partner does not need to be a Windlesham member but they do need to have a club handicap.
Congratulations to Alex and Mike!
