Last Friday, Windlesham was represented at the annual Lord’s Taverners Sir Harry Secombe Golf Day at Worplesdon GC by a good showing of four teams of four.

A total of 80 Taverners members and guests supported the annual charity day which, as a result of monies raised, will create more sporting chances for disabled and underprivileged young people.

In a format of best two scores to count from four, the team of Mick Archbold, Dion Taylor, Barry Selman and Jonathan Hedges carded a very creditable score of 92. Unfortunately, this wasn’t quite enough to beat a strong team of winning ladies on 93, but second place put Windlesham GC in the prizes.

As usual the Windlesham handicap travelled well, and a good day was had by all.
