The Highwaymen’s Annual Christmas Dinner was held on Friday 15th December and as usual was a roaring success, all the Highwaymen and guests attending the event had a great time – just look at all the laughing faces in the photographs. The traditional Seat Raffle was won by Club Captain, Graham Robertson, who graciously declined the prize, it was redrawn with Laurie Morse winning.

Ex Highwayman Captain Tony Green just pipped Brough Girling to the Heads and Tails prize. Many of the HWM (and even some guests) were fined for misdemeanours they had been guilty of during the year, all of which added to the fun of the evening – even last years Club Captain, Mick Archbold, was fined for not wearing a tie!

This year an Auction was held by Clive Thompson for a painting entitled “The Hairy Putter” which raised a very credible £70, (purchased by Michael Holland, well done Michael). All the proceeds of the evening go to the Captains Charity, PARITY, in all over £700 was raised during the evening.

The main event of the evening was of course the Awards Section were the Winners and runners up for all the competitions throughout the year were invited up to collect their Trophies and Prizes and have their photographs taken to mark the occasion, the prizes were presented by Ian Greenaway, the HWM Captain for 2016/17.
