An 08:30 shotgun start on Sunday the 5th of June saw 24 teams take to the course on what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year so far. There was some fantastic golf played and some superb scores. A one-under gross round from Dan Ryan and an eagle by Sam Woodham were just two of the talking points discussed during lunch and the post dinner drinks on the terrace later that afternoon.

Sam Woodham subsequently claimed the individual 1st prize with a stableford score of 41 points whilst Dan came 3rd on count back with 40 points. Separating the two in 2nd place (also on count back) was Sue Mitchell with 40 points. The team prize went to Steve Osbourne, Chris Stangroom, Dave Eccles and Peter Hurwood with a score of 130 points.

The day, however, was only made possible by the army of volunteers who put themselves forward to manage the multitude of tasks that make these occasions such a success.  Through the efforts of all involved, helpers, donors, sponsors alike, a truly outstanding sum of £7563 was raised for the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.

Captains Chris and Gill were absolutely thrilled by the level of generosity shown in support of their chosen charity and offer their sincere thanks to all who contributed to what was a most enjoyable and satisfying day.
