Windlesham had a large attendance at the Surrey Heath Citizen Advice Bureau Charity Golf Day held at the Berkshire Golf Club on Tuesday 12th April.
Over 20 4-balls took part in the shotgun start, team stableford event with the best three scores counting on each hole. The event was won with a fantastic 135 points from a Windlesham team made up of Richard Bishton, Andy Devonport, Karl Foster and Peter Milham. Richard carded 8 birdies in his round and the team clearly gelled to generate 45 point average for their three scores. Windlesham also finished 3rd with a team made up of Brett Capaldi, Larry Jarvis, Stewart Judd and Tom Wall who carded a score of 126 beating the Camberley 41 Club on countback. The Camberley 41 Club included Windlesham member Richard Snook who scored a very impressive 48 points on his own.
Men’s nearest the pin was also won by Brett Capaldi so a very strong performance with Windlesham picking up a number of the main prizes.
The event raised over £13,000 through team entries and an auction of a range of items including a round of golf for 3 at Queenwood Golf Club, which went for £2,500 on its own.
A great day and a strong representation and performance from Windlesham.
