Our Call My Bluff evening on the 14th of April went down a treat with over 40 guests in attendance. The night started at 7pm with some light refreshments in the clubhouse before moving into the Orangery to have some cheese and olives at 7:30pm before beginning the night’s proceedings.
Our panel of sommelier’s were given the task of describing each of the 8 wines on offer, with only one of the four telling the truth. It was down to the teams present to decipher which of the panel were lying. The panel consisted of: Richard Tear, Mick Archbold, Andy Fielding and David Williams.
There were 8 wines involved (3 red, 3 white, 1 sparkling and 1 rosé), which were:
Rio Roca Sauvignon Blanc (Chile)
Pinot Grigio (Italy)
Thomson Estate Chardonnay (Australia)
Rio Roca Merlot (Chile)
El Coto Rojo Rioja (Spain)
Rupert & Rothschild Classique Merlot/Sauvignon Blanc, Franschhoek Valley (South Africa)
Pierre Lacasse, La Bastide (France)
Botter Prosecco Spumante, Veneto (Italy)
A wonderful evening was had by all in attendance, and stay tuned for another wine evening coming soon.
