The Junior Club Championship is not for the faint hearted. With an early start time, 25 Juniors all hoping to play their very best to win the prestigious title of Windlesham Junior Club Champion 2012.

The Juniors poised for the Club Championships

Playing 36 holes in one day is pretty tough by anyone’s standards. With only an hour between rounds having to put your score into the computer, eat lunch – chips with ketchup (Glaswegian salad) and some players going to the practice ground to try to correct any flaws from the first round.  Unlike last year when the first round had to be cancelled due to the torrential rain, this year’s weather conditions were more favourable.

The 36 hole competition is won by the player with the best gross score. After a first round lead with a gross 75, Callum May who has a handicap of 3 eased to a convincing victory with a second round gross score of 77.

The August Cup is for the best net result of the two rounds. This was a very tight match with Paul Keenan just beating Christian Mucklow and Callum Wheeler with net scores of 62 & 72
