I am delighted to announce that the Surrey Heath Borough Council Planning Application Committee yesterday voted in favour of our planning application to erect a single storey extension to the existing clubhouse building which will provided a new porch entrance lobby area, the enlargement of the kitchen and catering facilities as well as the dining room, lounge, bar and pro-shop as we have advised.

Though this is excellent news and we are thrilled that the council have passed this application the hard work now starts as we move to the next stage of the project being a detailed implementation and build plan. We will be putting out a detail tender document and establishing the operational implications of the build during the next few months. I would suggest that at a practical level the earliest we are likely to be able to start this building works will be January 2013 and possibly later depending on our forward commitments to functions but we will be looking at this over the coming weeks. We will naturally keep you informed over the coming months as this project develops.

Whilst writing I would like to confirm that at last month’s Borough Council Planning Application meeting on 19th December 2011 they also agreed to our plans for the erection of a new maintenance building and internal alterations to the existing maintenance building which is also excellent news for Windlesham Golf Club. As with the main clubhouse we will be now going out to tender and looking at the detail requirements for storage of the equipment and the working practice of the Greenkeeping operation.

I would like to thank everyone who wrote to the council supporting our application and to Charles Mador & Partners, Chartered Architects for their assistance together with the Windlesham Golf management team who all worked so hard on these two planning applications. We will now turn our attention to the Practice Area and our plans for improving this area.
